HORSELESS CARRIAGE
The
first N. American automobile was placed on the
market in 1887. Success was almost immediate,
and
by 1910 nearly a half-million automobiles were on the road. Steam,
gas and electric power all had
their
proponents, and automobiles of all sizes and styles were offered.
Manufacturers appeared by the
hundreds
--- and most of them as quickly disappeared. It was a dynamic
era for the developing Ameri-
can
automotive industry, an era whose effects have changed the face of
the country and the lives of all
who
live in
it.
Full size model of a horseless carriage, not
built to any
perticular scale or model. Build from ods and ends, powered by a
6-9 horsepower Fairmont 2 cycle engine. Constructed by Owen Bosma
in the summer of
2001 and the winter/spring of 2002.

The wheels are Ford model T, the front axle unkown.
The gas headlight
been converted to electric.
The carriage may be seen at various shows, and parades in South
Eastern
