Pictures taken at the Quinte Flywheel Show

For the past 26 years the Quinte Flywheel Show has become popular with the people in the Quinte area. It has giving the public a nostalgic look at the past centered around the internal combustion  engine and its related equipment. In the days before hydro, especially in the country, the farmer would use the engine  for various chores like pumping water, grinding grain, rolling oats and running a washing machine. Some of the bigger engines would be used for threshing grain, sawing wood, running a stone crusher, a line shaft in a blacksmith's shop or in a canning factory, plus the marine engines  were commen to the Quinte area. At the show, you will not only see engines  but also early farm tractors and antique cars.
