The bars down the back of the tailgate were exclusive to the Nomad.
The centre bar had a "knuckle buster" that was only used on the early
'55 models. The bumpers had optional accessory guards.

Several features of this car were exclusive to the 1955 Nomad, including the
following:
- The chrome that runs over the headlights and down the front fenders
is chromed die-cast white metal.
- The wheel wells on the back quarter panels were higher than on
other 55 models.
- The roofline on this model was lower than the sedan and wagon models.
(You'll also notice the rocker moldings and "gravel guards" on the front wheel wells
- these were a GM accessory that finished the car nicely.)
